ABPsi Detroit Members have a wide variety of psychological interests, professions, and educational backgrounds. Our members include students and professionals who work in a variety of settings including private practice, colleges and universities, hospitals, and academic medical centers, and in business consulting.

Our professional members include both masters and doctoral level psychologists from a broad range psychology disciplines, including Clinical and Counseling Psychology, Community Psychology, Educational Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Social Psychology, and more. We welcome and offer mentorship to student members including high school students, undergraduates, and graduate students who have an interest in psychology.

Can I attend the monthly meeting if I haven't paid my dues?

Absolutley! We strongly encourage you to participate in every capacity possible. All are welcome to attend the monthly meetings.

Why does the chapter have dues?

Great question. The dues are used to cover the operational costs of our chapter including maintaining our status with the national organization and our website. Dues also fund our memorial scholarship fund for students and early career psychologists and event planning.

What are some of the activites that the chapter offer?

Our chapters hosts a variety of annual events including the Spring Symposium, Kwanzaa Celebration, and a variety of other social, educational, and networking events. As a community, we are also involved in the following:

Can I make a donation without joining?

Absolutley! We welcome financial support from individuals and institutions who missions align with ours.

Do I have to be a Psychologist to join?

No. We offer different membership packages for students and practioners of all educational levels. Please see our Join Now page for more information on how to become a member.

Do I have to RSVP to attend the monthly meeting?

No. RSVP is not neccesary. Join us every second Friday of the month. We are currently meeting via Zoom. Please email for the current zoom link.
